Looking after your Health & Wellbeing

Work can have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing. Healthy and well-motivated employees can have an equally positive impact on the organisation and the people we support. When you do suffer from illness or injuries we have a number of initiatives in place in order to support you and your family. 

 

  • Sick Leave

When you have over 12 months service with MacIntyre, you will receive company sick pay for absences due to ill health. Please refer to your contract for further details.

 

 

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • HCML

HCML is an independent rehabilitation service who provide our staff with support for minor injuries that have happened at work. Rehabilitation is about assisting and supporting our staff through their injury or illness, managing their treatment and keeping the people involved up to date.  This is to help improve recovery and a return to work.  For further information please contact the HR Team on 01908 230100 or at occ.health@macintyrecharity.org

Enhanced Annual Leave

The statutory requirement for a full-time employee in the UK is 28 days holiday including public holidays.  At MacIntyre our full-time holiday entitlement starts at 22 days + public holidays, making a total of 30 days. 

 

Savings Scheme

This scheme allows staff to save for a fixed period in order to assist with their own financial wellbeing. Please contact Staff Support on 01908 230100 or see below for Guidelines and Application form.

 

Long Service Awards

In order to recognise your commitment to MacIntyre, we reward our permanent staff for their continuous length of service.  At 3 full years of service, you will receive Rewards through this system to the value of £30, and then further vouchers at 5 years and then each full five years while you remain a permanent employee.

 

Death in Service

Whilst no one likes to think about passing away, it is reassuring to know that MacIntyre will pay a lump sum (twice your salary) to your beneficiaries if you die whilst employed with us. 

 

Pension

Employees who meet the age and earnings criteria are auto enrolled in the organisation’s pension scheme through Black Rock.  Employees who are not eligible for automatic enrolment are still able to join.  Family Friendly Policies

As a family oriented organisation, we offer parental and flexible working arrangements whenever practicable.  Please do not hesitate to speak to your line manager about flexible working arrangements.

 

Childcare Support

The Government closed the Childcare Vouchers scheme to new entrants on 4th October 2018. This means that if you’re a parent looking to join Childcare Vouchers for the first time that option is no longer available to you.  You may however be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs if you’re eligible for Universal Credit.  In order to see if you are eligible to receive the childcare credit, please visit https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/universal-credit.

Recommend a Friend

In order to thank employees who successfully recommend a friend to join the MacIntyre team, we will reward them with an introduction fee to the value of £200.00 (paid in vouchers through My Rewards).  

  • For people who join MacIntyre on a Permanent contract - the employee who made the recommendation will receive 200 points (value of £200.00) on commencement of the new person starting in their role.
  • For people who join MacIntyre on a Relief contract, the employee who made the recommendation will receive 200 points (value of £200.00) when the relief worker has been in place for 6 months and worked on average 16 hours per week. 

When applying for the position the candidate must note the employee's name who made the recommendation on the application form.  

Management and staff involved in recruitment are exempt from this benefit.
