Employee Assistance Programme

Through our external Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider, LifeWorks, MacIntyre is able to offer access to a confidential support service for all employees and their immediate family members, which includes counselling and advice on issues.

We all have problems from time to time.  Talking to a sympathetic counsellor or expert advisor can help us make a tough decision, try a different approach or sometimes just learn how to cope with a situation that we can’t change.  Our aim is to help you find your own solution to whatever is worrying you.

How to get support

You and any family member (aged over 16 who lives with you at your address) can contact the helpline, 24-hours a day.  Our friendly team will ask whereabouts you live, the name of your employer and sometimes what department you work in. You’ll need to give us a telephone number (preferably your mobile) and a convenient time for one of our counsellors, lawyers or advisors to call you back.  Alternatively you can book an appointment online.

Counselling support:

If you want to talk to a counsellor, your first appointment will always be a telephone counselling session.  This initial counselling session will be arranged at a time to suit you includes a clinical assessment.  Your counsellor may recommend you have a course of counselling, or they may suggest a referral to another specialist.   Our nationwide team of counsellors are all highly qualified and experienced; talking with a sympathetic and objective professional is the first step to feeling better.

Practical advice:

If you have a legal question, we can arrange a free telephone consultation with a fully qualified lawyer.  Money, debt and every-day practical advice is also provided.  Money, debt and everyday practical advice is also provided.  Normally a single advice call will answer all your questions; however you can speak with the same advisor again to work through a more complex issue.  Where appropriate we will also put you in touch with other organisations that provide specialist information and expert advice.
